Competitive sports & victories

Laura Dahlmeier stood on skis for the first time at the age of two and at primary school age she expressed her career aspiration to become an Olympic champion. Initially active in alpine ski racing, she tried biathlon for the first time at the age of nine and then focused entirely on the sport at twelve years old.
Straightforward, with full commitment and a high level of motivation, the childhood dream became reality:
Laura Dahlmeier won seven gold, three silver - and five bronze medals at the Biathlon World Championships, 20 World Cup races and the overall World Cup in the 2016/17 season. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang she crowned her career with two gold medals in the sprint and pursuit races, as well as the bronze medal in the individual competition.

This makes Laura one of the most successful biathletes of all time, honored among other things as "Sportswoman of the Year" (2017), with the Silver Laurel Leaf of the Federal Republic of Germany (2018), the Pegasos Award as "Legend of Sport" (2019) and the Bavarian Order of Merit (2021). She is an honorary citizen in her home town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

In 2019, at only 25 years of age, she self-determinedly ended her active time in biathlon to pursue new goals.
